Reclined Knee Circles
Benefits: Reclined knee circles massage the spine and release tension in the lower back. When you attach your breath it also enhances your mind and body connection. Bring your knees towards your chest. Hold onto your knees and make gentle easy circles with them. Attach your breath, inhale in the beginning of your circle and then exhale as you come around. The benefit here is a gentle lower back massage. Slow down your breath a little on each circle – especially if you will be going into savasana. Change directions after a few rotations. Relax your feet to the floor when you are finished. Precautions: If you have stomach irritation or nausea, avoid having your knees too close to your stomach. Make this a lower back relaxation pose. If this hurts your lower back, keep your feet on the floor and gently rock the knees side to side without lifting the back of the hips off the floor.
After practicing reclined knee circles move into savasana.
