Reclined Figure 4 Pose
Benefits: Reclined figure 4 pose stretches the outside of the hips. Lie on your back on your mat. Bend your knees and place your feet flat on the floor. Take your right ankle and place it on top of your left thigh, with the knee out to the side as much as comfort allows. Now hold onto the back of your left thigh and gently pull the left leg in towards your body. You are looking for a stretch in the outside of your right hip and into your buttocks. Once you feel that stretch just breathe and hold 3-4 breaths and release. Precautions: If you have a knee injury use caution with this pose. Adjust the angle of the knee for comfort. People with back injuries should consult a physician. Repeat with the left leg.
After reclined figure 4 pose practice reclined spinal twist.
